Assistant Quality Assurance Manager Full Time

Role Description The Assistant Quality Assurance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Abbotsford, BC. This role supports the Quality Assurance Manager in maintaining and improving the quality management system, ensuring that all maintenance, repair, and overhaul work complies with regulatory, customer, and internal standards. Daily responsibilities include assisting with audits and inspections, reviewing maintenance records and documentation, monitoring adherence to procedures, and supporting investigations into non-conformances or quality issues. The role also involves coordinating corrective and preventive actions, assisting with staff training on quality procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the operation. The Assistant Quality Assurance Manager collaborates closely with technicians, operations, and management to promote a strong safety and quality culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Quality Manager in maintaining compliance with TCCA AMO requirements and applicable CARs regulations
• Assist with internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities
• Review work packages, maintenance records, and technical documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Maintain controlled documents, manuals, and quality records in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Communicate with technicians, inspectors, and management to resolve documentation or compliance issues
• Assist with supplier evaluations, certifications, and traceability verification
• Track, document, and follow up on NCRs, SDRs, and other quality‑related reports
• Support updates to QA procedures, forms, and manuals
• Maintain an organized, compliant QA workspace
• Participate in ongoing training and development toward future leadership responsibilities

Qualifications

• Experience with quality management systems in aviation or a similar regulated industry, including internal audits, inspections, and documentation control.
• Strong understanding of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) processes for aircraft engines or mechanical systems, with a focus on safety and compliance.
• Proficiency in analyzing data and reports, identifying trends or root causes, and supporting corrective and preventive action plans.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, procedures, and training materials.
• Proven organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
• Collaborative approach and ability to work closely with technicians, engineers, and leadership to reinforce quality standards.
• Post-secondary education in aviation maintenance, engineering, quality management, or a related field; an AME license or equivalent technical certification is an asset.
• Familiarity with applicable aviation regulations and standards (e.g., Transport Canada, FAA, or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience in a quality-focused or supervisory role within aircraft maintenance or another technical field is an advantage.
