What you’ll learn on the finance graduate scheme

This three-year scheme consists of three placements, where you’ll discover what it means to be a key partner in decision-making. Your placements will be in:

Core Finance

You’ll build a strong understanding of the core purpose of a Finance function by getting involved in areas such as monthly reporting and budgeting

Insight & Analysis

You’ll develop your ability to provide new perspectives on a topic, working independently and presenting information to stakeholders. This could include helping to form our latest planning forecast

Business Partnering / Finance Specialist

Lead relationships with both the Business and Finance community with responsibility for local outcomes/decisions, using bespoke analysis to advise and influence business decisions.

Along the way, we’ll support your studies towards a leading, industry-recognised professional accounting qualification, with plenty of study support along the way. And, given that Finance supports all of our business areas, you’ll have every opportunity to develop a diverse network of colleagues and contacts across the Group.

By the end of the scheme, you’ll have greater awareness of your abilities and interests, and a genuine understanding of how your work makes an impact!

Qualification

We’ll support you as you study towards qualifying to become a Chartered Accountant (CA) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS)

The work you could be doing

• Building relationships with colleagues and customers to understand their needs

• Looking at the way we do things and sharing ideas on how we could improve

• Learning about our various businesses and the regulatory frameworks around them

• Analysing data to produce updates that offer real insight and inform business decisions
