The Medford Cooperative is seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team. This is a newly created position that has the potential to serve as the successor to our Corporate Controller. This individual will be given increasing levels of responsibility to groom them for the assumption of Corporate Controller position. Duties may include:
· Creating financial statements for business unit leaders, management, and the board of directors
· Preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports
· Assisting Business Unit Leaders with budgeting and tracking
· Ensuring all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and established accounting principles
· Assisting with billing and tax documentation preparation
· Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations and best practices
· Excellent understanding of governmental guidelines, tax laws that affect the Cooperative
· Analyzing and reporting cost variances
· Serving as a liaison to external auditors
The successful candidate will be:
· Highly organized with keen attention to detail
· Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Proficient in basic office and accounting software programs
· Proficient with digital technology as it relates to accounting software, banking, and invoice automation
· Collaborative and work well in a team environment
5+ years of experience in Accounting is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA license is preferred.
