About the role

This position will be responsible for providing strategic advice on the implementation of the A New Model of Career Education initiative as part of the Educational Pathways Program (EPP). This position is responsible for managing and coordinating multiple projects across NSW public schools participating in the EPP. Leading the development of partnerships with local business, industry and tertiary provider to enhance the vocational opportunities, pathways and transitions of students.

Permanent teachers taking up non-school based temporary appointments, the right of return to their substantive position has been extended to up to 3 years.

  • Teaching qualifications and successful school based experience within the K-12 range
  • Demonstrated understanding of the professional standards and accreditation processes and capacity to coordinate accreditation processes with staff
  • Excellent liaison, negotiation, conflict resolution and team building skills across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated outstanding written and oral communication and interpersonal skills and the capacity to apply these to a wide range of reports, submissions and strategic planning
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of curriculum, professional practice, policies, relevant legislation, initiatives and current research in education
  • Demonstrated capacity to analyse performance and financial data, undertake reviews, evaluate and report on findings
  • Demonstrated high level capacity to initiate, develop, evaluate and coordinate planning, monitoring and reporting practices to drive improvement
  • High level ability to manage multiple commitments within tight timeframes in a complex and politically sensitive environment
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
