Queensland Government Hiring for Finance Officer Job at Brisbane Full Time

The Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) is a single institution with a multi-disciplinary staff of approximately 280, located across two adjacent river-side buildings in the Cultural Precinct at Brisbane’s South Bank.

QAGOMA holds a Collection of over 19 500 works of historical, modern and contemporary art, and stages diverse Australian and international exhibitions complemented by events and public programming. The Gallery is home to the Children’s Art Centre, which collaborates on interactive artworks with leading artists, and the Australian Cinémathèque, a dedicated cinema facility. The Gallery publishes on its exhibition program, tours exhibitions and programs throughout regional Queensland, and provides educational programs for all curriculum levels. It operates its own retail and food and beverage outlets and event hire services.

The purpose of this position is to record, control and report on the Gallery’s revenue which comes from a broad range of sources, including government grants; donations, sponsorships, and other grants; food and beverage outlets; catering; retail operations; ticketed exhibitions; cinema programs; and members and Foundation programs. The occupant of the position is required to use a wide variety of systems in order to extract, journal and reconcile revenue data, including Finance One (the Gallery’s accounting software), Info Genesis (outlet, exhibition and cinema revenue), Booknet (retail operations), and the Gallery’s ecommerce systems for online transactions. In performing the role, the occupant communicates with a large number of Gallery employees as well as staff from external organisations (e.g. system suppliers, banks).In addition, the position will be required to assist with other financial duties from as required (e.g. preparing budgets, assisting with financial statement preparation, assisting with Estimate briefs, preparing information for the FBT return, and backfilling of other finance position during short term absences).The successful applicant will need to work closely with the Finance team and other Gallery management and staff.The role description will outline any qualifications, licences and specific requirements of the role.
