Accounting Analyst Rotational Program in Detroit, MI
Reporting Location: Detroit, MI
Position Start Date: Summer 2022
Schedule: Full-time
Travel: Yes – Comerica locations in Livonia, MI and Auburn Hills, MI

Position Responsibilities:
The Accounting Rotational Analyst is placed in a twenty-four-month rotational program completing rotations among various groups in Accounting and Finance. During the program, the Accounting Rotational Analyst will be provided structured training, management support in career development, and a diverse experience across Comerica Bank to help the candidate achieve long term success.

Key responsibilities throughout the rotational program include (but are not limited to):
  • Proactively learn the responsibilities of each area in order to understand the significance of the area and how the functions support the Bank, including the deliverables stemming from each applicable team
  • Assist with both month-end and quarter-end close processes, including performance of general ledger entries and completion of various reports & analyses
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and assist with implementing processes to streamline existing workflows
  • Become a thought-leader on current technology and upcoming implementations including performing system testing when necessary
The Accounting Rotational Analyst will have the opportunity to explore the following areas in Corporate Finance:
  • Fixed Assets
  • Cost Accounting
  • General Accounting and Tax
  • Management Accounting
  • Global Capital Markets Accounting
  • General Ledger System Implementation
  • Business Finance

Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 3.0 overall grade point average (GPA) or better (GPA will be calculated by using grades for all credit hours/classes that are applied towards degree including transferred credits)
  • CPA eligible or desire to obtain CPA license preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft products such as Word & Excel
Note:
  • Transcripts are required prior to interview.
  • Will consider applicants 9 months prior to the completion of their Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree. Employment to begin post- graduation.
  • Degree (as described above) must be completed and verified prior to official start date.
