Do you have experience of working in a safeguarding role as part of a social care or education, setting? Are you committed to safeguarding children and young people? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the specialist and well-regarded Education Safeguarding Service. You will act as an assistant to the area education safeguarding advisors, working closely with schools, improvement colleagues, headteachers, senior leaders and early years’ providers to offer support and advice on all matters relating to safeguarding children.
Working closely with your colleagues in the team, this job involves designing and delivering education safeguarding training using a variety of approaches (including virtual and face to face delivery) for designated safeguarding leads, managers, and staff in schools and early years provision. You will be a confident trainer with excellent communication skills and be able to deal sensitively with a wide range of safeguarding issues.
The post involves undertaking safeguarding reviews in early years settings and developing training and resources to support effective safeguarding practice in education settings, so you will have opportunities to share and develop your skills and knowledge.
The team is currently working remotely from home or in settings/venues when delivering face to face training; a hybrid model involving some office based work is expected to be adopted in the future. Although the post is based in East and South Kent and will predominantly involve delivering training in those areas, work across Kent and beyond will also be expected to meet business needs.
This is a demanding role and requires someone who is self-motivated, enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to work under pressure. You will be well supported in developing new areas of expertise.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
