Sheffield Hallam University Hiring for Purchase Ledger Finance Assistant Job at Sheffield, England Full Time

As a Finance Assistant, you will join our busy Purchase Ledger team, who are responsible for ensuring all University payments and purchases, to UK and overseas suppliers, staff and students are processed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.

• Ensure all transactions / processes are monitored, reviewed and corrected where necessary

• Receipting of goods or services received through the P2P system

• Investigation of items on the ledger to ensure accurate and timely processes (e.g. held and logged report review, supplier statement reconciliations, credit balances, bank returns)

• New supplier set up and amendments to existing supplier details, following University procedures to minimise the risk of fraud.

You should have experience of working in a Purchase Ledger environment and the ability to use computerised accounting systems together with excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, is also essential.
You should be committed to providing a high standard of customer service, with excellent communication skills, and have the ability to work accurately with attention to detail and as part of a team following the University Financial Regulations, University policies and procedures to minimise non-compliance, error and fraud risk.
