Brunel University London is a world-class University based in Uxbridge, West London. As one of three academic colleges within the University, the College of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences aims to transfer its extensive knowledge in fields such as Social Work, Biosciences, Occupational Therapy, Nursing and Psychology to make the University a key contributor to the UK’s teaching and research agenda for health and health-related studies.
We are seeking confident, organised and experienced individuals to join our team as Practice Education Administrators, supporting the Department of Health Sciences in the placement of its students across a range of clinical organisations and environments. You will be engaging with teaching staff across our Division of Nursing and our Division of Physiotherapy, depending on the role you are appointed to, and external placement providers for both our undergraduate and postgraduate taught students.
The purpose of each role is to deliver excellent operational support that would provide a positive learning experience to our students prior to, during and following their off-campus practice education activities. Additionally, the role involves reviewing and improving our existing processes to deliver these aspects of their degree programmes more effectively and efficiently.
Key elements of these roles include working closely with a Practice Learning Coordinator(s) to deliver the various requirements of any practice (placement) based activity (e.g. DBS or immunisation checks for students) and recording appropriate student activity.
Prospective candidates should possess significant administrative and operations-based experience which may include planning, co-ordination and customer service responsibilities, working as part of a small team and demonstrating initiative to resolve problems. A background in Higher Education is not necessarily required, however, an understanding of complex processes and experience of process re-design, evidence of successful stakeholder management and a positive approach to customer service are essential.
We are looking for candidates who can successfully demonstrate:
