Education Development Officer The Children’s Hospital, Westmead, NSW – Maternity Leave replacement opportunity – Consolidate and improve the existing educational program – An opportunity for a successful education professional to make their mark in the immunisation field The Role The National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance (NCIRS) is looking for a dynamic individual who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment to lead the current educational program and provide strategic advice on innovative educational activities and delivery methods to develop and enhance the program. Skills & Experience 1. The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in education with experience in delivering educational programs and materials. 2. Knowledge and understanding of the Australian primary care sector, including delivery models for immunisation. 3. To be successful in this role you will have a keen interest in the development, implementation and evaluation of professional learning solutions related to immunisation. The appointment will be full time temporary until 30 June 2022 with the strong possibility of extension. About NCIRS NCIRS is the leading organisation in Australia working in research that provides expert advice to support evidence-informed immunisation policy and guideline development, evaluation of the National Immunisation Program and the surveillance of vaccine-preventable diseases, vaccine coverage and vaccine safety. NCIRS has national and international recognition in this arena and also has a growing program of work providing technical support to countries in the Indo-Pacific region. NCIRS is a collaborative team of experts in public health, biostatistics, infectious diseases, paediatrics, internal medicine, epidemiology, communication, social science and quantitative and qualitative research and survey methods. www.ncirs.org.au The Centre is based within the Division of Research of the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, Westmead Campus, NSW, Australia, but has an all-age research remit and is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and the Sydney Institute for Infectious Diseases (Sydney ID) at the University of Sydney.
Tertiary qualification in education and/or significant experience in delivering educational programs and materials.
Demonstrated detailed knowledge of the Australian primary care sector, particularly including delivery models for immunisation.
Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering educational materials, preferably to healthcare providers, including on-line resources.
Provide strategic advice on educational activities and have a demonstrated capacity to design, implement, assess and evaluate a range of activities.
Exceptional writing skills and demonstrated ability to impart complex content and issues in an engaging manner.
Demonstrated excellent organisational skills, including planning and project management.
Excellent computer skills (outlook, excel, word, power point, web-based platforms).
Demonstrated ability of educational leadership and communication skills and ability to work in a team environment and take initiative.
