Financial Accountant | Champion | KEW

Our most upcoming and exciting streetwear and athletic brand Champion is growing at pace and as a result we are looking for a Financial Accountant to work in our newly created Champion Group based in Kew.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be supporting the broader finance team with a range of accounting activities for our retail, online and wholesale channels across Australia and New Zealand.

We are looking for a highly technical Financial Accountant to join our fast paced and rapidly expanding business. This role encompasses all financial accounting areas such as general ledger, fixed assets and taxation administration, and supports financial planning and analysis reporting prepared for key stakeholders.

What will I be doing?

The core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing and reconciling different components of the financial records of the Champion business in line with internal deadlines
• Maintaining the financial controls environment in the General Ledger (JDE) in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements
• Supporting the budget and forecasting processes for both P&L and Balance sheet measures for the Champion Group

What experience do I have?

• CA qualified – audit training highly desirable
• Proven financial accounting skills – you have to know your debits and credits!
• Commercial experience in a large, complex organisation is desirable
• Strong time management with an ability to prioritise
• Naturally curious and a problem solver, with excellent attention to detail
• Positive attitude and an ability to work in a “start-up” environment that is constantly changing
• Confidence in excel– pivot tables, v look ups etc
• Proven high level of effective written and verbal communication skills
