Tensile AI is looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented data engineer to join the team. This opportunity will enable you to contribute to the development, support, and enhancement of our analytics library. Our library enables multiple data analytics teams to use consistent methods and functions in their evaluation of a wide range of Medicaid business questions.

What you’ll do
As a data engineer, you will be responsible for the execution and management of data analysis pipelines. This includes data intake, data quality assessment/evaluation, data curation, and enrichment/preparation processes. Our pipelines consist of various healthcare data sources to support the analytics library. Additionally, you will develop the business rules processing engine and Python library interface.

The Position
· Design and develop scalable data integration (ETL/ELT) processes (including ingestion, cleansing, curation, unification, etc.)

· Automate the processing of external data feeds (such as NPPES, Risk Adjustment, etc.)

· Design and develop tools to support data profiling and data quality methodologies

· Develop process documentation and create a guide for contributors

Skills and Experience
· BS / MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics

· 3+ years of experience with Python

· 3+ years of experience with big data processing; Spark or Databricks preferred

· Knowledge of data manipulation methodologies

· Familiarity with healthcare data is a plus

· Experience working within cloud environments; AWS preferred

· Excellent verbal and written communication

· Ability to work alone and as part of a team

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $54.00 – $58.00 per hour
