Future challenges
The Underground Mine Trainer reports to the Superintendent HR – Corporate training and prevention. His responsibilities include:
Identify training needs & strategy based on improvements in Health and Safety of underground equipment or underground vehicles.
Prepares training plans according to the standards and characteristics of the different equipment and vehicles.
Participates in the creation of training materials (technical documentation, audio-video materials…) and defines teaching methods and tools needed for the training.
Ensures that the training programs run smoothly and are of high quality.
Collaborates with writing internal policies and procedures related to this field, more specifically in relation to the Nordic Road Code and the use of heavy equipment and service vehicles.
Collaborates with other departments in the development and/or the maintenance of various underground training projects.
Provides training to employees and contractors who are based at the site.
Produces reports and statistics required for the training department.
what we are looking for
College Diploma DEC or DEP in mineral extraction or any other training with equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a trainer in an underground mining operation.
Hold the modular training of the mining worker.
Hold a valid driver’s license and explosives license.
Excellent knowledge of the various software of the MS Office suite and other training platform.
Nice to have
Accreditation of trainer of mining modules (an important asset).
Multiple knowledge (work card, lockout, confined space, work at height, hot work, WHMIS, etc.).
Experience with Inuit communities
French and English bilingualism (spoken and written).
