We are currently accepting applications for part-time faculty in the Applied Manufacturing Management – Design Integration and Computer-Aided Drafting and Design programs within the School of Workforce Development. This individual is responsible for providing the delivery of curriculum and the development of an effective learning environment for students. We are looking for faculty to teach students the basic engineering drafting skills of mechanical parts and progress to more complex parts. Students will gain knowledge of the creation of templates, borders and title blocks that are used in the current version of AutoCAD. The main areas of study are system customization, drawing and editing tools, dimensioning techniques, multiple view drawings, attribute definitions, blocks, and external references within AutoCAD. Students will review basic engineering drafting skills with a 2D environment and progress to 3D. The main focus of this course will be to create solid models and assembly and detail drawings using Inventor.
Although many of our employees are currently working remotely, this position is governed by the applicable legislation of the Province of Ontario. Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required.
Qualifications:
Trade Certification and/or Diploma, combined with seven years of software design experience
Formal education and a minimum of five years of work experience with CAD software
Experience teaching in a variety of adult education contexts is an asset
Strong computer skills and demonstrated experience incorporating relevant technologies in the field
Knowledge and experience using course/learning management systems (i.e. D2L) is considered an asset
Excellent communication, interpersonal, intercultural, and collaborative skills
Flexible with strong organizational skills
Ability to communicate professionally (verbal and written) with students, program team, vendors, stakeholders, etc.
Ability to relate to learners working at different skill levels in a shop environment
Strong commitment to ensuring student success
Excellent interpersonal skills with a flexible approach to problem-solving
Able to model safe, respectful conduct
Self-motivated, team player who can work cooperatively with Conestoga students and employees
