Software Developer x 2 – Ongoing/Full Time

An exciting opportunity exists for two ongoing Software Developer (VPS5) roles in Applications Development Unit. The Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) in the Department of Education and Training provides innovative and integrated Information Management and Technology (IMT) for both the corporate areas of the Department and all government schools and kindergarten service providers in Victoria.

The purpose of this role is to execute full software development life cycle within the Salesforce/CRM suite of applications.

Software developer will be responsible for the following:

• Write well-designed, maintainable, and testable code
• Develop specifications and determine operational feasibility of solutions
• Continuous product and process improvement by identifying technological and systems deficiencies and recommending process, procedures, and method improvements.
• Integrate software components into existing, fully functional software system on CRM platforms

Key desired skills, experience and qualifications required for this role are:

• Experience with Web Services development and API
• Knowledge of databases and data retrieval using SQL
• Confidence, self-motivation, and a desire to be challenged
• Aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies
• High quality development skills and demonstrated experience (front/backend development)
