Responsibilities and Duties

The Accounting Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring day-to-day client accounting responsibilities are assigned and completed on time. This will be accomplished by coordinating with Accounting Team Members as well as performing your own assigned tasks and responsibilities. Initial responsibilities would include:

Accounts Receivable Management:

• Ensure client invoicing is performed according to requirements.
• Supervise team members in collection of clients’ outstanding receivables

• Supervise team members in addressing necessary AR adjustments

Accounts Payable Management:

• Approve bills entered by Accounting Team Members in Bill.com
• Supervise team members in addressing necessary AP adjustments
• Assist in the preparation of periodic cash flow reports

Payroll Management:

• Oversee the accumulation of client payroll data
• Review and submit final payroll submissions for assigned clients
• Resolve issues related to client’s payroll and/or payroll taxes

General Ledger Oversight:

• Supervise entry of client banking and credit card activity to ensure posting accuracy
• Managing and exporting client expense activity data from Tallie expense reporting application
• Handle significant month-end entries and adjustments
• Assist in completion of the month-end closing cycle

Team and Client Management:

• Triage and oversee the resolution of incoming client requests and questions
• Provide clarity to MFS team and clients regarding use of systems and processes

• Provide guidance and training for Accounting Team Members

Qualifications and Skills

We are seeking seasoned accounting and administrative professionals with a minimum of 5 years experience that includes practical bookkeeping work, as well supervising a team or department within a privately held business or nonprofit. You should have experience working in dynamic, fast-growing and/or changing organizations.

We use a number of cloud-based systems for serving clients, including QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Tallie, Gusto, etc. You must at least be proficient working in both QuickBooks Online and Bill.com. A strong background in overseeing payroll functions is a major plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
