Position Summary:

The Tax Manager will coordinate the preparation and review all federal and state income and franchise tax returns for the company to include sales tax and research tax issues and proper application of federal and state tax law as part of the process. The Tax Manager will support the Corporate Controller and CFO in staying up to date on new federal and state tax legislation, preparation and review of quarterly and year-end tax provision work, special project work, and management of federal and state income and franchise tax audits to obtain favorable settlement.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Management and oversight of tax compliance project plan and coordination with external service providers.
• Work with accounting teams providing tax information and analysis.
• Quarterly review of closed transactions, new entity set up and financial statements.
• Preparation and review of research on tax return issues and supported conclusions.
• Evaluation and review of required tax elections and tax return disclosures.
• Review of income tax provisions documentation.
• Review of Federal and State tax returns.
• Review of quarterly estimated tax payments and withholding tax deposits.
• Management and oversight of responses to inquiries from tax authorities and coordination with external service providers.
• Manage audits and respond to audit data requests from federal and state tax authorities for favorable audit settlement.

What you need to succeed:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Licensed CPA, master’s degree in taxation is a plus
• Public accounting or relevant industry experience with a minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in corporation and partnership taxation.
• Knowledge in the taxation of corporations, partnerships, and other flow-through entities.
• Ability to interpret and use online tax research tools, tax compliance and general ledger software products
• Ability to perform data analysis
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage internal and external work groups
• Flexible with the ability to adapt to change
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex tax matters.
• Must be able to work effectively in a demanding, fast-paced, and complex environment while maintaining the highest standards and attention to detail.
