Mobile EHR Inc is software company that owns several health care related iPad apps. We primarily serve Midwives but also have apps for Lactation Consultants, Doulas and doctors. We began in 2008 and have grown to a large subscriber base mostly in the US but also many other countries.

Software Developer – 100% Remote – iOS – Long Term position – Healthcare IT

This is a remote position indefinitely because all our team is in different states and countries.

Responsibilities

Type of Role:

• Software development for iPad/iPhone with Objective C and Swift. Some large features, some small features, bug fixes and customer support.
• Our health record software is on the iPad/iPhone as the client side and .NET C# and SQL on the server side. Many coding tasks will require work on both client and server. C# experience not required.
• We also have a client portal in Java for Android and Angular for our web based portal. There will be opportunities to work in these environment if you desire it.
• Work effectively on a small team of three developers.
• We are looking for someone who loves programming and that can work from home in a place without any distractions or noise.
• Must also be good at multi-tasking, solving multiple bugs and production issues while working on new development for both minor and major feature enhancements.

Decision-Making:

• Follow existing software coding policies, procedures and best practices as set forth by the tech lead. We follow an informal agile-like iterative development SDLC, so you get to fill in the blanks on how exactly you want to manage your assignments. Management will expect deliverables on a weekly basis.

Supervision Received/Provided:

• Apply technical expertise and work independently within scope, on task and not following rabbit trails. There will be weekly progress meetings.

Illustrative Responsibilities

• Must quickly learn and always seek to obtain a full understanding of the entire business process as it relates to what you are working on.
• Must be able to quickly identify holes in requirements and clearly communicate the gaps and make suggestions.
• Must be able to take high level requirements and learn complex business rules by researching existing code and communicating with team.

Qualifications and Skills

• Typical candidates will possess at least 7+ years of software development experience
• At least three years in Objective C and/or Swift
• Needs to understand core data, memory releasing, queues, programmatic UI development, how to research crash reports, exception handling, logging and multi-threading.
• This is a small company with very little process, so the onus is on the developer to write defensible, solid and very organized code to minimize bugs. Applicant will be presented with a one hour online technical skills assessment.
• Code should be polymorphic, de-coupled, non-monolithic, clean and self-documenting. It must be organized into descriptively named classes, methods, folders and projects. Classes and methods should be small. This limits the possibility of duplicate code and each project is easily refactorable and reusable by other projects.
• Code must always be well organized, indented and have uniform spacing between class members at all times. Member names must be self-descriptive and always follow camel or pascal casing as applicable. Sloppy code is not acceptable.
• Must successfully pass a background check

Job Type: Full-time Remote

Salary: $90,000.00 to $110,000.00 /year DOE. W2 or 1099 available. 15 PTO days and 10 holidays. Health Insurance. 401k.
