Your role

Do you want to design and build next generation business applications using the latest technologies? Are you self-assured at iteratively refining user requirements and removing any ambiguity? Do you have a curious nature, always interested in how to innovate? If so, we’re looking for software engineers to:

  • design and implement technology solutions that will solve business problems and strengthen our position as digital pioneers in the financial services
  • leverage the latest technologies to provide the best user experience
  • design, plan and deliver resilient solutions using various programming languages
  • provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing applications
  • conduct code reviews and test software as needed, along with participating in application architecture and design
  • see that proper operational controls and procedures are implemented to process move from test to production

Your team

You’ll be working in the Finance, Risk and Analytics Service (FRAS) Technology team in London. Part of the larger Group Technology organization at UBS, FRAS Technology delivers high-quality and innovative solutions that support our Group Functions’ business partners in achieving their operational goals. Technology is at the very heart of UBS. Your expertise

  • bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
  • experience in working in large global teams, especially for high-performance, large-scale systems through various project lifecycle stages like design, build, testing etc.
  • understanding of dev ops tools and engineering practices using micro-services, ci/cd pipeline and test automation
  • strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Agile Software delivery Methodology (Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc.)
  • experience in one or more programming languages: Java 8+, Python, R
  • experience in SQL/nSQL databases
  • Cloud technologies and patterns
  • experience in Containers, Kubernetes
  • knowledge in building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets
  • strong in Algorithms and Data Structures
  • interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work as part of a global team
  • passion for learning and innovation
  • keen interest in understanding how the business works
