Responsibilities and accountabilities
Your responsibilities will include the following:

• Ownership of a technical domain including architecture, roadmap and vision.
• Responsible for communicating technical vision of their domain to ICs, Management, and Executive.
• Seeks out and acts upon opportunities to drives the success of their domain and its related products in terms of company performance – for example highlight overlooked opportunities for innovation that could meet an unsatisfied need or market opportunity.
• Stay current on new trends in their domain area, and drive adoption of new technologies at the right time.
• Accountable for the quality and stability of the systems in their domain, including standards (eg coding standards best practices).
• Work with a PM and Director to uncover implicit user assumptions in a new product opportunity objective.
• Craft functional experiments and prototypes of the concept to elicit early feedback from users to validate the assumptions.
• Hands-on leadership of functional design – for example, writing skeleton code on a branch that provides details on how a proper implementation should be constructed.
• Responsible and Accountable for the quality of the initial estimates based on these detailed architectural designs.
• Assist in selecting resources to staff a project team to complete the objective.

Supervision provided and received
This is an individual contributor position equivalent to a manager level. As such, you will be expected to make an impact on the business and software group with minimal supervision. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Core Software Development.
Working conditions
This is an office job with regular hours and occasional travel requirements.
Education and work experience
Required skills and experience:

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering (or equivalent)
• 10+ years technical experience, including Kotlin, Java, or C++
• Experience with Android development
• Demonstrated technical excellence over a sustained period of time over several product releases – sets an example that inspires others to follow.
• Ability to work on complicated, poorly defined problems.
• Proven ability to quickly get up to speed in new technologies.
• Exceptional verbal and written communications skills used to share ideas and influence other departments.
• Ability to explain extremely technical information to people with no technical backgrounds
