We have an exciting new opportunity in the Wessex Postgraduate Medical Education Team (PGME) for a full-time Education Programme Officer. You will help coordinate the foundation programme for trainees as they commence their postgraduate training and support a new project planning for the implementation of the expansion of foundation training placements.

Our ideal candidate will be an excellent team player, who enjoys communicating with a wide range of people, be highly organised and have a flexible positive approach to work. You will have a good general level of education, ideally relevant experience in an administrative role and able to deal with a very busy environment. You will have good time management skills (including reliability and punctuality); demonstrate a good working knowledge of MS applications; excellent attention to detail and ability to approach obstacles in a creative and constructive manner.

As Education Programme Officer, you will have a varied portfolio including:

• Supporting the successful high-quality management of the foundation programme in conjunction with the Head of School and Education Programme Manager
• Oversee the academic recruitment process for foundation trainees
• Assist with and participate in the annual assessment process
• Support the Co-ordinators, advising on technical aspects and how to respond to queries, with the expectation they will take ownership and deliver the responsibilities devolved to them
• Liaise extensively with local Trusts and the national UK Foundation Programme Office
• Develop a comprehensive working knowledge of the digital trainee information systems – including the website, ensuring these are maintained and validated
• Undertake detailed and complex data analysis and statistical reporting
• Working as part of a team you may lead on other areas to gain insight into the full remit of postgraduate medical training activities
