Academic Achievers, a leading Los Angeles educational services agency, is looking for a 1st teacher to work with a 6 yr. old to homeschool 2-3 days week only. This job is NOT on-line. It is in the child’s home in San Fernando Valley.

The applicant must be an experienced teacher with the ability to assess child and create individualized engaging lessons in accordance with the California State Standards. Applicant must be able to teach in the child’s home in Sherman Oaks. Hours are flexible and yet to be determined.

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)
• Teaching credential

• Ability to do informal assessment

• Teach early literacy

• Phonics

• Basic math skills
• Handwriting
• Reading comprehension
• Critical reading skills
• Science and Social Studies

• Tutor must have energetic , positive personality

• 2+ years of experience as an elementary teacher

• Create fun, academic project-oriented sessions

• Active, fun learning to nurture curiosity

• Develop engaging interactive lessons

• Write weekly progress reports

• Position starts ASAP
