Main Purpose

The post holder will be a member of the Finance team and will work within both the London & South region Finance and Property team. The role will support the central Finance team with processing transactions and collecting data from databases to assist with invoicing.

Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Team Support

• Recording of manual Sales Invoices and Credit notes and ensure adequate audit trail of manual invoices/credit notes are kept and filed.
• Assisting in the identification and processing of ad-hoc building charges
• Extracting data from our finance systems ledger to support reporting requirements.
• Contacting Customers and Suppliers to obtain further information on outstanding queries.
• Assist in creating lease finance rules to enable accurate Real Time tenant charges
• Running reports on Real Time property database ensuring data is accurate.
• Assisting with month-end and year-end ledger processing.
• Recording queries received.
• Assisting the finance team with ad-hoc duties and support on projects as required.

Communication

• Respond to Finance queries as instructed by your line manager and working closely with other members of the Finance team.
• Communicate proactively within the Finance and London & South team and the wider company as necessary.
• Interact with external stakeholders ensuring they remain professional at all times.
• Prioritise own workload and communicate effectively with Management Accountant and Regional Accountant to agree priorities.

Development

• Progression towards recognised professional accounting qualification
• Participate and contribute to Finance team meetings.
• Participate in all aspects of continuous improvement to processes.
• Participate in companywide development.

Other

• Participate in Finance activities as required by members of the central Finance team.
• Ensure that the office filing is kept up to date, working closely with the Finance Officers.
• To undertake any other duties commensurate with the post as may be requested from time to time and where necessary, you must be prepared to assist the office or your relevant region with any duties, responsibilities or projects delegated to you that are outside of your remit.

Key Interactions

The post holder will interact with the wider Finance function, the London & South region, all levels of staff across CHP and with external customers and stakeholders and other external parties (including tenants) as required.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

• Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, to include English Language and Maths.
• Studying towards a professional accountancy qualification

Essential Knowledge & Experience

• Good IT skills.

Desirable Knowledge & Experience

• Intermediate Excel skills

Essential Qualities

• Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively and apply concentrated effort to deliver results on time.
• High level of numeracy and literacy
