The role of the Principal Education Officer is to lead and develop initiatives to assist and support teachers in their implementation of curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment programs. The Principal Education Officer leads teams of casual writers and assessors to develop syllabuses andresources, quality assure school-devised assessments and school judgements, and develop and mark external assessments.

This role requires teaching experience and expertise in the relevant subject areas.

For this role, we will consider how well you:

• lead teams of casual writers and assessors to support the development of curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment products and services- lead teams of casual writers and assessors to quality assure school-devised assessments and school judgements and to develop and mark external assessments- work collaboratively with Principal Project Officers and Activity Managers to ensure alignment of products and services with whole of organisation directions, policies and procedures- revise and redevelop curriculum products and resources including senior syllabuses and guidelines- lead the development of the annual subject report(s)- provide timely and high-quality client focussed assistance and support to schools, teachers and other key stakeholders- provide expert advice to Learning Area Managers and Assistant Directors on issues related to the implementation of senior curriculum and assessment- manage and deliver business priorities within designated timelines and using allocated resources- liaise with government and non-government educational agencies on assigned projects- create and maintain professional relationships between the QCAA and key stakeholders- lead forums, workshops and stakeholder engagement activities- prepare briefings, correspondence and reports- undertake other specific tasks as required to assist the QCAA in achieving its business outcomes- contribute to a change management and performance development culture by participating in regular two-way feedback discussions with your manager and colleagues, and through the implementation of an individual Performance and Development Plan (PDP).
