• Account’s assistant is an entry level apprenticeship role working in Mitie Landscapes finance and commercial team;
• The role will gain experience in transactional areas of finance including invoicing customers, collecting cash from customers and financial analysis;
• Role is working closely with the Landscapes’ operations; Landscapes Finance and Commercial, Mitie transactional finance teams and client, to ensure that the data and processes that drive billing are continuously reviewed and suitably followed by the relevant personnel;

Role will be Assistant Accountant level 2/3 apprenticeship, with end qualifications of AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) level 3 Advance Diploma in Accounting + 2 x Level 2 Certificate in book-keeping module.

Job Details:

Transactional billing;

• Preparation of certain applications for presentation to client and timely invoicing
• Reconcile Purchase orders against application submission and operational SAFE data
• Co-ordinating Operations to update SAFE, where required
• Submit applications with relevant backup data to billing on a timely basis
• Resolving and co-ordinating ongoing billing queries
• Co-ordinate manual billing activities
• Uploading invoices to customer portals and investigating outstanding unbilled purchase orders
• Sending out winter gritting service invoices
• Provide cover for other areas within the Commercial Team
• Gain experience in accrued income management

Financial analysis and reporting;

• Assisting with management accounting activities e.g. reporting and analysis of financial results of the business and working directly with Financial Controller

Credit control;

Assisting credit control manager with debt activities and issue resolutions. Gain experience in cash management.

• A-levels ideally in accounting
• Good demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills
• Eager to learn and be pro-active
• Be tenacious, i.e., proactively following up on issues and outcomes driven
• Experience of Microsoft Excel (Pivots & VLOOKUP) would be preferred
