We are a technology startup revolutionizing the $21 billion executive search market with an inclusive platform for executive hiring. We are on a mission to improve diversity at the board and executive level by opening up access to opportunity for all qualified executives.

AboveBoard is a marketplace where hiring companies, which are our clients, join to list board and executive opportunities. These opportunities are generally not listed anywhere else. Our members, who are VP+ executives–with a focus on underrepresented groups, especially female, Black, and Latinx individuals–join to see and apply for those opportunities.

We have tremendous momentum. We launched in October 2020, and already have dozens of paying clients, over 7,000 executives have been approved as members, and we have over 500 class-A executive and board opportunities on the platform.

AboveBoard was co-founded by serial entrepreneur Lucinda Duncalfe and True
Search. True is a diversified talent portfolio with companies in traditional executive search, executive assessment, and executive search software serving clients including companies like Starbucks and Comcast, investors like Greylock and KKR, and other executive search firms like Caldwell and SPMB. We are funded by True and angel investors, with 91% of our external funding coming from underrepresented investors including Angeles Investors, Commune Angels, and executives from Twitter,
Airbnb, and Google.

The company is fully remote with our two dozen employees spread across the country.

About this Role
We are seeking our first Manager/Sr. Manager Recruiting and HR role. In this role you will partner with company leaders to create and implement our people strategy, plan, systems, and processes. This will include recruiting, onboarding, employee growth, culture, performance management, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance. Your goals will be to bring on the best employees, set them up for success, and contribute to our inclusive, impact driven culture. The best candidate will grow within the role and in our organization over time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet the business’s growth needs by recruiting a diverse team of outstanding professionals

• Develop and execute a recruiting process that minimizes bias and maximizes quality unbiased

• Partner with senior leaders and hiring managers to define needs, source and screen candidates, own AboveBoard’s online recruiting presence on our own site, Linkedin, and others

• Design and implement employee processes covering the full lifecycle, including employee relations

• Administer all benefits plans, including selection and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations

• Select, implement, and use systems that increase efficiency, ensure good recordkeeping, and enhance the candidate and employee experiences

• Select and manage external recruiting and HR consultants as necessary
• Prepare, maintain and provide relevant metrics and KPIs to drive decisions and improve processes
• Help with other G&A tasks as appropriate

It’s likely you’ll have:

• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent
• 5+ years in people operations/HR, with at least 5 years full-cycle recruiting experience(in-house experience preferred)
• Experience leading recruiting in a fast paced environment and growing headcount year over year
• Relentless drive to find and connect with the best talent and to develop sourcers and recruiters
• Strong detail orientation
• Experience in a startup preferred, but not required
• PHR, SPHR or SHRM certification is not required but great to have

Pay: $21.00 – $61.00 per hour
