Our client is one of Australia’s largest and fastest growing corporate trustees, that provides a range of responsible entity, trustee, fund administration and compliance services to their expanding range of domestic and international clients.

They are currently seeking a Head of Fund Accounting who will be responsible for the management of all fund accounting and administration activities. This will include the management of a team of Fund Accountants and the provision of services in relation to over 80 investment funds across a broad range of asset classes.

The funds they administer include domestic and international equity funds, private equity funds, land sub-division funds, SIV funds, mortgage funds, hotel funds and property development funds.

About the Role

In this role you will be responsible for the management of all aspects of the Fund Accounting and Administration Department, including:

• Fund Accounting
• Unit Pricing
• Taxation
• Fund Administration
• Financial Reporting
• Budgeting & Forecasting
• Project Management
• Management and leadership of direct reports
• Management of audit process
• Reporting
• Dealing with external service providers such as auditors, tax advisors and custodians

Skills and Experience

You will be an energetic and motivated person that thrives on responsibility and accountability. Having already established your management skills in the funds management industry you will be looking to lead and mentor a growing team of professionals.

Specifically, you will have:

• Minimum 5 years of management experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in fund accounting
• Academic qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Business
• CPA/CA qualified
• Strong supervision and mentoring skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Importantly, you welcome responsibility and take ownership for your role
• Proven track record of high achievement
• Excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships with clients
• Ability to organise and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
