The Island House Hiring for Wait Staff at Mackinac Island, Michigan Full Time
We are currently seeking experienced servers to work in our family of restaurants.
Wait Staff Positions are available in the following locations:
These are full-time positions that run through late October. We offer 40+ hours per week to our servers, with regular overtime available. Our restaurants are fully open and running with no restrictions. Our Servers will all see high gross sales for the remainder of our season. We expecting record-breaking business in the coming months.
Island House Hotel is a member of the Historic Hotels of America and is a one-of-a-kind property located on Mackinac Island. We are family-owned and operated.
We have five one-off restaurants on Mackinac in our group, from family dining to casual fine dining. Each one presenting a broad range of opportunities.

These positions are full-time and run through late October.
We have shared rooms in dorm-style housing available on Mackinac Island at a cost of $95.00 per week. There are no more than two to a room. Please visit our website for more information.
About Mackinac Island
Mackinac Island is a unique place located between Michigan’s rugged upper and lower peninsulas where Lake Huron and Lake Michigan meet. There are no motor vehicles on the Island, which is accessible only by ferry, plane, and private watercraft.
No motor vehicles mean no rush hour, no commute, and little pollution. Leave a big portion of your carbon footprint on the mainland. Walk or ride your bike to get around. Job Summary
A server is responsible for waiting on customers in a timely fashion and all necessary side work. Service is the primary responsibility. A friendly, positive and courteous attitude toward customers and co-workers is necessary.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for opening and closing procedures
- Must be familiar with the menu, daily specials, and prices
- Responsible for filling out a daily tip report
- Must be punctual
- Present a neat, clean, and professional appearance
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Basic math and reading skills
- Must be able to understand and carry out instructions
- Must be able to maintain a professional manner under stress
