We are looking for a conscientious accountant to take on the role of Finance Manager for our SME in Hythe Southampton to ensure the smooth running of the finance function.

Job Specification – £27K-31K FTE (full time equivalent)

Part Time Finance Manager

We are looking for a part time Finance Manager for approx 28-34 hours a week over 4 days Salary Pro rata.

Maintenance of Purchase, Sales & General Ledgers using Xero Software

Bank & Balance Sheet Reconciliations

Cashflow Forecasting

Payment Runs

Monthly Journals & other month end procedures

Employee Time sheets & Holiday Records

Checking expenses

Accounting for CIS

Wages using Bright pay Software & Nest Pension Submissions

Quarterly VAT checks and reconciliations

HMRC Submissions & Payments for PAYE & CIS & VAT

Management Accounts including monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and other reports & analysis as necessary and provision of financial information for meetings

Preparation of Year End accounts ready for submission to the accountants.

Monitoring Fuel Consumption

Update Policies and Procedures

Working with the Operations & General Manager to ensure the smooth running of the company

May also include some HR tasks such as issuing of New Employee Contracts

Continuously looking to improve and update financial policies and procedures’

Other Ad hock Tasks & projects as necessary

Person Specification

Preferably AAT Qualified to Level 4

Must have 3 years Accounting and Finance Experience

You will possess good time management

Experience of Xero & CIS would be an advantage

You will be able to work on your own using your own initiative and be able to prioritise and organise your own work load.
