Educational Coach (part-time/ 5+ years experience)
Lakretz Creative Support Services is an innovative, dynamic professional development company that specializes in Inclusive Education since 1992. Our services include workshops and hands-on coaching to School Systems, Administrators and Teachers regarding topics such as co-teaching, differentiated instruction, community building, modifying curriculum for students with disabilities and ELLs and explicit instruction.

We are looking for passionate, creative educators who are skilled at co-teaching and differentiating. LCSS coaches are creative problem solvers who look at students and schools in a holistic approach. We believe there is always a way to include and we provide and develop strategies to match that belief.

Positions are part time and your schedule will be flexible. NOTE: At the moment, we are working in person in schools on Long Island, NY. A portion of our work may take place virtually via Zoom. Virtual/in person is subject to change.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver coaching and support consistent with and according to the LCSS framework, values, philosophy and training materials.
• Visit classrooms in person or virtually.
• Provide feedback, facilitation, strategies, problem solving and support to school staff (teachers, paraprofessionals, service providers, etc.) during meetings with them.
• Create your schedule in conjunction with the client regarding the dates you will provide service. Work with the Principal or point person to support them to create your daily schedule. If working virtually, schedule Zoom meetings for each meeting and send the links to the principal and/or teachers.
• Meet with administrator(s) to discuss needs, goals, and objectives, and to provide them with feedback as appropriate.
• Meet with groups of teachers in order to study a strategy or groups of strategies, plan and problem solve.
• Email notes to the people you have met with and/or watched within a week of your visit. You will send your notes to a member of the LCSS team for review before sending them to the client, until the CEO deems it no longer necessary.
• Provide feedback to Beth Lakretz about the concerns of the client as well as your progress, success, challenges and concerns.
• Attend LCSS staff meetings
• Once familiar with all training materials, co-teach workshops.

Requirements:

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on teaching experience in co-taught classrooms or supporting ELL’s in general education classrooms
• Skills to educate students with mild to severe disabilities and/or ELLs in general education classrooms
• Expertise in differentiated instruction
• Expertise in co-teaching models developed by Marilyn Friend
• Master’s Degree
• Consulting experience a plus
• Interested in working throughout Long Island, NY
