Finance Officer – Surgical Services

About the role:
Our dynamic and multi-skilled team within Surgical Services at John Hunter Hospital is seeking a resourceful and results driven Finance Officer to become an integral part of our busy team!
This role will see you provide support to the Finance Manager against a broad range of functions including data interrogation, processing, allocation and review of expenditure and revenue, reporting functions and compilation of monthly performance data in a timely and high quality manner, ensuring integrity in financial and corporate system information.
This role is supported by the Finance Manager with the view to train up to be able to do leave relief and with various opportunities avaiable to support your career development!
Where you”ll be working:
Surgical Services encompasses 15 theatres, various inpatient wards and a committed Finance team of 3 people. Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital is a tertiary referral hospital, teaching hospital and community hospital featuring fifteen operating theatres, 550 adult beds and 101 paediatric beds. With the busiest ED in the state, major trauma centre for Northern NSW and delivering services to people of all ages from birth, to childhood and adulthood, it is a great place to develop or start your career.
About you:
Our successful candidate will be a motivated professional with a positive nature and attitude. You will have relevant Tertiary Qualifications in business or accounting (or studying towards) and/or relevant recent experience. You will have excellent time management skills and attention to detail in order perform a wide range of administrative tasks to deliver job outcomes within defined timeframe and strict deadlines. You will be a problem solver with analytical skills with the ability to ability to prepare management reports, maintain financial records and central registers.
Your advanced skills with computer software including Microsoft Office and large distributed Financial Management Information Systems and effective oral and written communication skills will be the key to your success in this role – If you think this is you, apply today!
