About Highland Valley Copper

Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operations is Canada’s largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation. HVC produces both copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation.

Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Supervisor, Millwrights are tasked with the repair and maintenance of on-site structures and equipment. Millwrights work a 4×4 rotation, consisting of two days, two nights, followed by four days off. This position is not camp‑based; as such, candidates must reside locally and be able to commute to site independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Preventative maintenance, machinery installation and machine repair
• Read and interpret blueprints, manuals or millwright process specifications
• Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
• Troubleshoot production problems and take preventative or corrective action
• Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment

Qualifications

• Must possess an Interprovincial Journeyperson Millwright red seal trade qualification
• Industrial experience is an asset
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be willing to work shift work
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license

Pay Range: CAD $56.61 per hour

Working Conditions

• Location: Highland Valley Copper is a 50-minute drive from Kamloops, which has all of the comforts of city living and is also close to Merritt, Ashcroft, and Logan Lake, which all exude a small town community atmosphere.
• Access: This is a drive-in/drive-out role. Most employees commute to site by car, and carpooling is common among team members.
