AP Head of Education Required for September 2021
Salary: £24,000-25,000, pro rata for 32.5 hours per week, 39 working weeks. Additional up to 4 weeks during school holidays for any community projects to be added to the salary when completed. Plus, potential annual bonus, based on performance.

We are looking for an ambitious leader, dedicated to making a difference working with young people who are at risk of exclusion, or have complex special educational needs. Someone who has a community spirit and who has experience working in the education sector. This role is to lead our alternative provision with the support managing directors and other professionals. Running the day to day operations of our KS3/4 and be in charge of the overall educational offer.
Being accessible to all young people is important to Nova City and you will ensure there are no barriers for young people wanting to attend provision.
The successful candidate will be/have:
A highly motivated, confident, non-judgmental team player, with excellent leadership skills and a passion to provide students with a friendly, safe and motivational place to learn in.
Experience working with disadvantaged young people in the school setting or alternative provision.
Genuinely passionate to work and make a difference to children and young people who are disadvantaged or have Special Educational Needs or Disabilities.
Able to demonstrate a dedication to their own continuing professional development.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES will include:
You will be personally responsible for liaising with schools and other services.
The designated safeguarding lead, along with overseeing the training of the rest of the teams continuous development within this area.
Parental contact, as consultation to review how our provision can best prepare for a student, with constant review of their progression.
Staff management, reviewing their performance, along with the day to day communications between all staff, including review of any potential areas where the provision may need to adapt/ change to provide a higher standard of service.
Develop community projects that will be delivered in the school holidays, allow students and families to access support throughout the year.
Working with multi agencies and networking with schools, and other community businesses etc.
Leading and supporting the delivery of creative and partnership projects.
Mentoring, coaching and supporting individuals, encouraging young people to develop their self-awareness, independence and individuality.
To support and motivate a young person with a wide range of support needs, which may include a history of challenging behaviour, involvement with the youth justice system and/or being looked after.
