About us

Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions. We work with several government agencies to coordinate metro, train, bus, ferry, light rail, road and maritime services, always keeping the safety and comfort of our customers at the heart of what we do.

The opportunity

We have a 6-month contract opportunity for an insightful and diligent analyst to bring fresh thinking to our team and drive better outcomes for our people and the customers we serve.

The Talent Reporting Analyst helps inform and evaluate how our hiring operations are going and how well we are supporting objectives across a range of performance and diversity measures for all of TfNSW.

This role works closely with digital information management systems and produces clear and engaging reporting that feeds back to our People and Culture leadership team and other key stakeholders. You’ll work within a small, supportive team of systems and reporting specialists and partner with people across our organisation to identify and track key performance indicators and other useful data.

We’ll also rely on you to keep us honest by supporting the development of talent planning strategies that line up with our organisational objectives and talent management best practices.

About you
If you’re keen to work with big data and can turn spreadsheets into stories, then this is the gig for you.

You’re someone who finds delivering answers for our clients and stakeholders (and sparing them the complexity of how you got there) a rewarding feat.

A commitment to quality and the ability to do the detail without losing sight of the bigger picture is important. You should enjoy change and coming up with new ways of doing things; you’ll need to challenge convention to build and improve on existing practices. You’ll also need focus, patience and a sense of humour when things don’t go right. Our systems and data aren’t perfect and for some of our more complex queries, we need to decipher information from different systems to figure out exactly what’s going on.

Previous talent system administration experience will be highly regarded (but not essential) as you’ll need to be comfortable working across a range of systems and programs including Taleo, SuccessFactors, Excel and Tableau.
