Sunrise Brands Hiring for Assistant Sweater Designer at New York, Full Time

Sunrise Brands, manufacturer for proprietary brands as well as private label, Seeking a self-motivated, detail oriented Assistant Sweater Designer for a fast-paced Junior, Missy, Contemporary brands. The ideal candidate is a driven, team player that possesses the following skills and qualities:

Requirements:

• At least 2 yr. experience. Design degree required.
• Excellent skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Office
• Strong knowledge in PLM systems
• Candidate must have experience in designing and illustrating sweaters including artwork/layouts.
• Knowledge of sweater yarns and gauges a plus.
• Strong organizational skills a must
• Good time management skills and ability to multitask/shift priorities
• Must be team player and competent to think outside the box.
• Must have an excellent memory

Responsibilities include:

• Flats & Sketches – must sketch all designs in illustrator, paying close attention to details, keep sketches up to date throughout the design process
• Tech Packs – create and ensure all tech packs are complete with design components
• Trims – research and coordinate raw material and trims; maintain yarn/trim library, specific to sweaters
• Research inspirational photos/ideas to apply to seasonal development of full collections
• Responsible for communication/maintaining records
• Attend all design meetings and follow up on creative direction.
• Create and maintain design line sheets, cads, etc.
• Prepare for all design presentations: assembling sketch boards, organizing samples for reviews, preparing for production meetings
• Visit local shops for trims and fabrics
• Develop strong working relationships with cross functional partners
• Attend and participate in all fittings when required
• Review all design submits with Sr. Sweater designer
• Manage deadlines in accordance with the company calendar
• Manage organization of samples library
• Contribute positively to team dynamic and manage up where necessary
