As a key member of the executive management team, the VP of Finance will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related and all information technology-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance, private and institutional financing and information technology operations oversight.

Primary Responsibilities

• Direct and facilitate short and long term strategic planning to produce financial plans that meet company strategies.
• Direct and coordinate financial planning and budget management functions.
• Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts.
• Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance.
• Monitor, analyze and make recommendations as it relates to monthly operating results against budget.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial reports.
• Oversee daily operations of the finance, accounting department, accounts receivable and information technology.
• Recruit, educate, and advise supervised employees and ensure that all department staff members are engaged in career development plans.
• Assist in establishing short and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures, within the area of the Finance and IT departments. Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure to effectively accomplish department goals and objectives.
• Serves as a member the Day’s Executive Committee and involved with company planning and policy-making.
• Interprets and synthesizes data into intelligent business decisions.
• Collaborate with company leaders to optimize cash and asset management.
• Work with corporate department managers to provide guidance and recommendations for operational efficiencies and company reporting.
• Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and capital investment decisions.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
• Serve as primary government liaison relative to financial issues.
• Represent the company externally to government agencies, auditors, and the general public.
• Coordinate financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
• Ensure adherence to banking requirements and builds strong relationships with banking partners.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business with strong Accounting experience.
• Five (5) to Ten (10) years’ experience in a mid to senior level finance or accounting position, and a CPA (preferred)
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems, with strong working knowledge of Excel.
• Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
• High level understanding of IT operations and technology integration within organizations.
• Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
• Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight time frames and simultaneously manage several projects.
