CAD Technician

Ecotone Inc. is an innovative and growing environmental design/build/restoration company. We are looking for an experienced, self-starting CAD/GIS Designer to join our team. The CAD/GIS Designer will work with our current Design Group to plan, draft, design, and permit ecological restoration projects. Qualified applicants will have experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, a basic knowledge of Geographic Information Systems and an interest in ecological restoration and environmental consulting.

Responsibilities will include:

• Drafting, editing, and finalizing design plans using appropriate, efficient methods that adhere to Ecotone’s drafting standards.
• Understanding and visualizing overall engineering concepts, such as grading, sediment control, and translating abstract concepts to design drawings.
• Analyzing sketches, notes and other input material to determine best approach to complete a drawing set .
• Using GIS to perform basic property searches and create simple layouts .
• Assisting new technicians with the software skills necessary to be successful in their jobs.
• Working collaboratively with the Ecotone team to review completed work products to ensure quality.

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

• 2-4 years of CAD experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience developing and working with grading plans, cross-sections, alignments, profiles, three-dimensional surfaces, and earthwork volumes for design projects.
• Understanding of the basic functions of ArcMap and ArcGIS Online; including creating layouts, pulling data from multiple sources, and using Editing, Selection and Geoprocessing tools.
• Organized, detail oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks.
• A positive attitude and readiness to learn.

Additional requirements:

• Experience using Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
• Drug and background check required.
