Now Hiring: Accounting Manager

General Description & Overview

MD Now is the largest provider of urgent care in Florida with over 50 clinics serving patients in Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Indian River Counties. We are seeking an Accounting Manager who will be accountable to supervise, monitor, and evaluate all day-to-day accounting activities for the department including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc. This integral role will utilize solid supervision skills of accountants, hands-on accounting experience and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles. The Accounting Manager will perform complex accounting activities and analysis that will drive the organization forward.

Primary Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and oversee overall accounting strategy and daily operations
• Monitor and analyze accounting data
• Set up and monitor accounting KPIs
• Regularly produce financial reports or statements
• Adhere to proper accounting methods, policies and principles
• Encourage other employees to adhere to standards
• Recruit and hire new employees
• Train new employees
• Perform and oversee annual audits
• Provide recommendations
• Meet financial accounting objectives
• Prepare and present KPIs to stakeholders

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Solid analytical skills with ability to analyze and reconcile accounting processes
• Demonstrated financial and management reporting skills with clear understanding of income statement, cash flow statement, and balance sheet
• Proven track record of improving processes
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Process-focused with proven ability to eliminate non-value add activity and drive productivity
• Ability to partner cross-functionally and build strong relationships both within and outside of finance teams
• Hands-on approach to learn existing processes end-to-end in order to identify improvement areas and backfill activities when necessary
• Demonstrated ability to mentor, develop, and supervise employees
• Effectively organize and prioritize activities to ensure all timelines are met
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure of rapidly growing business

Education and Experience

• Minimum education: Bachelors degree in accounting or finance
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience including posting journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and managing a closing checklist
• Strong proficiency in excel is required
• Experience working in Quickbooks or similar general ledger software is required
• Proficiency in Workday Adaptive and Concur is highly desirable
• Experience with ERP / General Ledger cutovers is highly desirable
• Experience accounting for fixed assets, inventory, prepaids, and detailed cost accounting is highly desirable
