Project Engineer – South Yorkshire

Contractor role – Outside IR35

Materials handling / heavy industry / conveyors

£30.00p/h – £33.00p/h DOE

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a key client based in South Yorkshire, who are a leading design, manufacturer and installer of materials handling equipment. They supply to heavy industries such as power, aggregates, mining, marine, and FMCG beverage industries. Due to an unprecedented uplift in projects, they are looking for experienced Project Engineer to join their team on an interim basis. Initially this contract/project is for 6 months.

For this position, you will require to conduct the following daily duties:

v  Assist the Project Manager for technical project engineering requirements

v  Oversee all mechanical and fabrication requirements relating to the supply of materials handling equipment on the specified project

v  Ensure compliance with customer specification and industry regulations i.e. CDM Regs etc

v  Meet key milestones

v  Resolve design and snagging issues etc, reviewing drawing on AutoCAD 2D

v  Understand fabrication and mechanical engineering requirements – suppliers through to the works and ultimately delivery

v  Plan into the works

v  Occasional site surveys at client/customer premises

v  Meet delivery objectives

The successful person will need to have the following attributes:

v  Ideally you will have a heavy engineering background with ONC/HNC/NVQ L3 Mechanical engineering

v  Strong appreciation for Materials handling such as conveyor systems

v  Strong systems experience ideally on AutoCAD and MS Projects

v  Strong communications and organisation skills, working with key stakeholders at all levels

v  Strong people person and team player, whilst demanding excellence
