Job Description
The Retail/Cafe Assistant, Cleland Wildlife Park, contributes to the delivery of a profitable café, retail and customer service functions, ensuring that visitors to the Park receive quality dining and retail services. The incumbent will be responsible for delivering high quality customer service and communication of information to visitors of the Park. The Retail/Cafe Assistant will also be required to ensure that industry standards are consistently met in hygiene and orderliness for the preparation, cooking and presentation of food. The incumbent will ensure work areas are kept clean, tidy and compliant with all relevant policies and legislation. The Retail/Cafe Assistant will be required to operate a computerised point of sale system and comply with departmental policies relating to the handling of money.

This is a recruitment pool and successful applicants may be appointed on either a part-time (term) or casual contract up to 15 hours per week, subject to business needs.

Special Conditions

  • This position is located in Crafers SA at Cleland Wildlife Park.
  • May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
  • The incumbent will be required to work a mix of week days and weekends, as well as being available during peak seasonal times including school and public holidays.
  • May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel and work outside of the normal hours of work.
  • The incumbent will be required to wear a uniform in accordance with departmental policy.
  • You must have or be in the process of obtaining a Working With Children Check (WWCC). This role has functions pertaining to working with children and is prescribed under the Child Safety (Prohibited Person) Act 2016 as requiring a Working With Children Check (WWCC).

Salary Range
GSE2
Term contract: $997.00 minimum to $1008.10 maximum per week, adjusted according to actual hours worked.
Casual contract: $26.23 minimum to $26.53 maximum per hour, plus 25% casual loading in lieu of sick leave and annual leave.
