The Opportunity

As ‘Head of People & Culture’, you will act as a champion for company culture and help drive the company ethos and infrastructure on hiring, developing and retaining the deep-tech talent to support the company’s growth. We are in top gear to add more exceptional talent to our people strategy as we experience exponential growth.

You will manage a matrix structured People Team with specialists sitting across diverse departments with multiple need states, learning requirements, and motivations. You will help coordinate the People Vision while partnering with business leaders as well as helping to build and support People and Culture within their teams. Reporting to the VP of People and Culture this role will be responsible for all People, Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development activities at the company.

You’ll be managing our People team and partnering with all Leads and all Barajans to navigate and solve problems, grow, and learn as we progress towards our mission in building an autonomous future. We are a fast-paced start-up and you’ll be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get things done with quality outcomes.

Specifically, you’ll need:

• 10+ years experience in the People & Culture space, ideally experience with supporting technology teams.
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders with different priorities and styles.
• Experience in managing one or more global teams.
• Ability to influence and work with a wide range of stakeholders, including the founders, leads, teams, and our People team functions.
• Be able to communicate to the People team functions the needs and wants of the specialty you are working on while recognising the overall strategic values of the people team.
• To be agile and adaptable.

• Find the appropriate People governance: get the balance right on People policies, People procedures, workplace regulations, compliance, systems and reporting.
• Identify and manage any people and Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) related risks.
• Set the direction, be the Change Leader: Identify needs and gaps, write strategies, build implementation plans, and be ready to roll up your sleeves and get the job done.

• You will use your strong relationship building and influencing skills to partner with leaders and other internal stakeholders to retain and develop a talented workforce.
• Your inspiring leadership style will align with Baraja’s vision and values that are naturally collaborative.
