SALARY
£18,000-20,000 + private healthcare + pension + on-site parking

ROLE
We are now continuing to grow our support function with the recruitment of an ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT. The successful candidate will provide an indispensable service to the team, underpinning the wider financial stability of the business through robust processes and systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
– Preparation of sales invoices to customers and maintenance of credit control ledger to ensure the invoices are paid within the agreed payment terms
– Processing sales and purchases invoices onto Sage in a timely and accurate manner
– Preparing and inputting the weekly supplier payment run onto banking platform
– Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details & relationships
– Reconciliation of supplier statements
– Monthly Bank and Petty cash reconciliations
– Calculation and reconciliation of the VAT returns
– Processing and reconciliation of intercompany charges
– Calculating fixed asset depreciation and maintenance of fixed asset register
– To assist the Management Accountant with the year-end accounts preparation
– Filing invoices
– Liaising with external auditors if required
– Maintaining accurate and organised office records and information
– Positively promoting the business
– Ad-hoc administration duties including but not limited to ensuring the office is kept tidy, greeting visitors/clients, assisting with corporate lunch/refreshment provision
PERSON
– A strong background in general business administration with 2+ years’ finance accounting experience within a fast-paced corporate setting
– Timely and accurate approach due to the tight deadlines
– Demonstrable experience of book-keeping and understanding of VAT
– Sound knowledge and fluent use of MS Office, particularly Excel.
– Confident and friendly telephone manner with outstanding interpersonal skills.
– Deadline driven and the ability to balance multiple tasks.
– Excellent planning ability and accurate record keeping abilities
– Working knowledge of Sage 50 accounts would be desirable
– Studying towards AAT is preferable but not essential
– Naturally energetic with a professional, proactive attitude and collaborative demeanour
