Juice & Jam Ltd are looking for a strategic Financial Controller to join our expanding team. To be suitable for this role you have both keen attention to detail and the bigger picture in mind.

You need to be an exceptional communicator and able to understand the entire business, not just the ins and outs of your own department. You will demonstrate strong leadership skills, have interpersonal flair and be able to make strategic decisions to help the company achieve its potential. This can include working hand-in-hand with the CEO and presenting reports to the Senior Management Team.

You will have significant experience in accounting and tax issues, plus the ability to guide others and take ownership of the company’s books.

What will you be doing?

The Financial Controller will be joining our business at an exciting time of change and international expansion.

You will oversee end-to-end accounting operations for the business by developing and implementing systems for collecting, verifying and reporting information.

The role’s main responsibilities are:

• Daily reporting.
• Analyzing and evaluating financial targets.
• Creating management reports of all departments at month end.
• Preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts and presenting those to senior management.
• Implementing and managing budgeting and reforecast processes.
• Providing back-office services such as accounts payable and payroll.
• Completing the statutory annual financial statements.
• Submission of company accounts.
• Providing insights on the financial health of the organization and monitoring cash flow.

• Ensuring the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations (including statutory accounting and tax issues.)
• Keeping track of market trends.
• Looking for cost-reduction opportunities.
• Developing relationships with external contacts such as auditors, solicitors and HM Revenue & Customs.
• Departmental budget management.
• Reconciliation of international accounts.

What we are looking for:

You will be working within a strongly owner led SMA and the role of Financial Controller will be a key strategic position within Juice & Jam. The ideal candidate must bring the following skills:

• High competency in preparing management accounts and costing activities
• An ability to work under own initiative and proactively solve problems
• Strong communication skills across all levels of the business
• Ability to meet strict reporting deadlines & proactively manage workload
• Key stakeholder engagement
• Strong aptitude for managing up, must have previous experience working with SMEs
• Previous experience in international accounts
• Proven working experience as Financial Controller or Finance Manager
• Advanced computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, Xero and Google Suite
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to direct and supervise
• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or equivalent preferred
