Where within the MRN will I be working…

This role sits within our finance team here at the MRN. The main purpose of the Finance department is to ensure that the MRN operates on a sound financial basis and that appropriate and effective financial controls are in place. Specifically, this means tightly managing all cash operations and ensuring that any requests for payments are authorised by the appropriate person in MRN. The team also provide relevant financial reporting, analysis and insight to assist decision making across MRN and also to meet legal and statutory requirements.

About the role…

As a Financial Controller, you will provide comprehensive commercial finance insight and reporting to the business. You will also ensure all statutory accounting, regulatory and legal obligations are met, and operate robust financial controls and procedures to ensure the monthly and year end results are accurate and produced in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Contributing and assisting the CFO, Director of Commercial Finance, Reporting and FP&A and Head of Finance Operations and Payroll to prepare, develop and implement a coordinated strategy for the Finance function.
• Managing month-end close and statutory reporting requirements
• Accountable for preparation of timely and accurate financial information including financial statements, system ledgers and other reports as required.
• Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial information necessary for accurate reporting.
• Co-ordinating and assist with the annual audit process
• Developing and maintaining Transfer Pricing agreements and all related procedures or methodologies.
• Overseeing markup invoices for each subsidiary & Intercompany creditors and debtors transfers
• Ensuring appropriate tax compliance and processes are embedded across all subsidiaries and territories
• Overseeing and ensure US state reporting and legal requirements are met in a timely manner
• Assisting with the setup and implementation of new entities as the company grows globally.
• Overseeing balance sheet including review in preparation of audit requirements
• Identifying opportunities for the exploitation of existing systems and the upgrade to any new applications
• Establishing, maintaining, and embedding internal accounting controls and financial policies across the business.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements for all entities.
• Managing and minimising risk across the financial reporting and statutory accounting function by keeping abreast of new accounting standards

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications…

We are looking for talented individuals who thrive in a very busy environment. Highly analytically minded with very strong accounting skills.

It’s Essential you have the following:

• Be a fully qualified accountant or have significant experience
• Strong technical accounting skills
• Ideally experience with overseas subsidiary and multi-currency accounting
• Delivering insight and financial complexity to non-financial colleagues including Board level
• Involvement working with overseas entities
• In depth experience of an accounting package
• Very strong Excel skills and the ability to develop and interpret insightful Management Information
