THE ROLE:
As a member of the Enhanced Central Gateway Testing team, the Software Tester will focus on executing Functional and SW Integration Testing leading to the release of Software in future Ford vehicles. You will have the opportunity to utilize your creativity to design, execute, and maintain various types of automated and manual tests. Together, these tests will help to ensure the products that we release are of the highest quality.

YOUR IMPACT:
Review requirements and architecture documents to formulate test strategy, design test cases, and develop test automation scripts.

Execute manual and automated tests, review test results, analyze issues, and validate fixes.

Ensure issues found are properly tracked throughout the Software Life Cycle.

Contribute to team deliverables through involvement in Agile scrum sprints.

Effectively communicate test status and issues with test leads, developers, feature owners, and management.

Participate in ongoing process improvements including test case maintenance, defect escape analysis, and rainy-day test scenario review.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.)

3+ years of experience with software and/or manufacturing End of Line testing.

3+ years of experience with automotive CAN protocol and/or diagnostics testing.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with manual, automated, and performance test tools and scripts.

Experience using defect tracking systems (JIRA preferred).

Experience using test management tools for test design, execution, and traceability.

Experience with analyzing logs and root cause analysis.

Detail oriented and adept at detecting and diagnosing software defects.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work in a multi-site team environment where self-driven and self-motivate capabilities are key qualities.
