Junior Application Developer

We are looking for a hardworking and experienced Junior Application Developer, eager to learn and tackle new challenges in a growing, dynamic, and innovative environment.

As a Junior Application Developer, you will begin to learn how to develop and maintain the custom business applications used by 350 team members here at AMP and by the nearly 50,000 family-owned businesses who are our clients. Our Junior Application Developer will participate in the construction of new products from the initiation phase onward, and take complex and challenging legacy systems and quickly develop expertise in maintaining and enhancing them.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

§ Learn and demonstrate software development skillsets within our applications and products such as

o Microsoft .NET platform

§ including C#, ADO.NET, ASP.NET, Web Services, Windows Services, and Web Applications, MVC 4.0+

o SSRS (Microsoft SQL Reporting Services)

o CSS, HTML, XML, JavaScript as we use it in our products

o SOAP, JQuery, and AJAX

§ Learn and demonstrate a level of proficiency of SQL programming experience with SQL Server.

§ Learn and demonstrate a working understanding of all aspects of the software development lifecycle used locally

§ Learn and demonstrate a working knowledge of source control and bug tracking tools used locally

§ Learn and demonstrate abilities in the construction of software applications based on functional specifications

Core Competencies:

§ Strong verbal and written communication skills.

§ Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment working with local and remote teams

§ Must possess problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task

§ Demonstrate the ability to work around projects and deadlines

Experience in the following areas considered a plus:

§ ASP.Net MVC 4+ development

§ Working knowledge of MySQL

§ API integration with third party services

§ LAMP (Linux / Apache / MySQL / PHP) framework

Qualifications and Experience:

§ A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Information Systems, or currently accepted into the respective program.

§ 1-3 years’ experience preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 per year
