The Opportunity
Reporting to the Deputy Chief, Operations, this position is primarily responsible for overseeing procurement and inventory of SJRFD clothing, PPE, equipment, and station supplies, including preparing tender documents, obtaining quotes for products and services, and managing the requisitioning process.

The successful applicant will be required to participate in all training programs applicable to this position and other related work. Qualifications
Education: Must have successfully completed a two (2) year Business Administration diploma from a recognized educational institution.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in a position with similar duties, including procurement, inventory management, and administrative functions. Experience dealing with firefighting equipment, clothing and tools would be a definite asset. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. (City administered testing may be required). Must be able to complete mask fitting, training, maintenance, and record keeping for the SJRFD Respiratory Fit Testing Program. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the City’s discretion.
Other: Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills are required, along with the ability to maintain good judgement. Must be highly organized, detailed oriented and an effective team player able to multi-task in an effective and efficient manner. Must be able to drive light vehicles and operate a vehicle with emergency lights and sirens. Class 5 drivers license is required.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office environment with periodic exposure to outside elements.
Physical Requirements
The incumbent must be able to lift heavy objects (minimum of 50 lbs) as needed.
Hours of Work
8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
