Viva Media · Toronto · Full-time · Hybrid · $60,000-$90,000/year
Viva Media is hiring a Creative Producer.
We’re a Toronto video production company. We’ve made 1000+ videos for brands like McDonald’s, TD Bank, Nestlé, Air Canada, PetSmart and P&G. We’re a team of fewer than five people, which means nothing you make here disappears into a committee. It ships, and it has your fingerprints on it.
Starting salary is $60,000 to $90,000 a year, based on experience, and for the right person we’re open to performance-based pay on top of that. This is a real, open role on our team, not a posting to collect resumes for later.
What a Creative Producer does here
You’re part creative lead, part systems builder, part the person our clients trust. A bit of a unicorn, honestly. One day you’re on set. The next you’re in the edit tightening a cut, or walking our animator through a motion graphics pass, or sitting with our editor to get a project where it needs to be. You can do the work yourself, and you know how to lead other people doing it.
The role has three parts.
First, creative quality. You own how good the work is. Across commercial and corporate projects, every frame has to hold up. That takes a real eye for design and storytelling, plus hands-on experience shooting, directing and editing. We’re firm on the hands-on part. You can’t lead this work well without having done it yourself.
Second, operational systems. You build the workflows that keep production predictable. Clear timelines, clean handoffs, nothing slipping through the cracks. We make a lot of video, and the machine behind it should run as well as the work that comes out.
Third, client experience. You guide clients and partners through the project with care and a personal touch. Every Viva project gets a dedicated producer as the client’s point of contact. On a lot of projects, that’s you, and you’re the reason the process feels easy.
How the role flexes: on bigger commercial projects, you’ll work alongside our freelance producer and represent in-house production. On corporate projects, you’ll often run creative production yourself, start to finish.
What you bring
The logistics
Full-time and hybrid. Shoot days and team work happen at our studio at 777 The Queensway in Toronto. A lot of the rest happens from home: footage processing and logging, editing and post-production, client communications, and day-to-day project management. You’ll need to be GTA-based.
How to apply
Send three things to careers@vivamedia.ca: your portfolio, your resume, and a short note on why this role fits you. No portfolio, no review, so don’t skip it. Every application gets read by a person here, not a filter.
And if you know someone who’d be right for this, send them our way.
