About Activ4 School Tours
Activ4 School Tours is a specialist tour operator delivering high-quality sport, ski, performing arts, adventure, and educational trips for schools across the UK and worldwide.
We work closely with schools to deliver safe, well-organised, and memorable experiences, supported by trusted international partners and resort teams.
As we continue to grow, we are now looking for an Operations Manager to lead our operations team and play a key role in improving how our tours are planned and delivered.
About the Role – What the Job Really Involves
This role sits at the centre of our operations function.
You will be responsible for leading and supporting the Operations Team, while also taking ownership of how our tours are planned, organised, and delivered.
This is a hands-on role. You will be involved in the detail, working closely with the team, organising workloads, solving problems, and ensuring high standards are maintained.
At the same time, we are looking for someone who can identify where things can be done better — improving processes, strengthening organisation, and helping the business scale effectively over the next few years.
This is not a purely strategic or corporate management role. It is a practical position for someone who enjoys taking ownership and making things work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Operations Team on a day-to-day basis
- Oversee the planning and delivery of all school tours
- Allocate and manage workloads across the team
- Act as the escalation point for operational issues
- Maintain high standards of organisation, accuracy, and communication
- Support and develop team members, including new starters
- Identify and implement improvements to systems and processes
- Work closely with Directors and Sales to ensure smooth handover from enquiry to delivery

Skills & Experience
- Experience in operations, logistics, travel, events, or a similar environment
- Experience managing or supervising a team
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Confident using Outlook, Word, and Excel
Salary & Benefits
- £30,000 – £35,000 per year (depending on experience)
- On-call payments once trained
