About The Position
Squamish Nation is seeking a Fleet Coordinator to support Ayás Mén̓men Early Years and Youth Services through the safe, reliable coordination and operation of fleet vehicles. This role is essential to the day‑to‑day delivery of programs—ensuring vehicles are maintained, compliant, and ready to transport children, youth, families, and staff. Requirements
- Grade 12 completion.
- Unrestricted or Restricted Class 2 or Class 4 BC Commercial Driver’s License.
- Valid Emergency First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Completion of ICBC Defensive Driving training (required).
- Minimum four (4) years of safe driving experience verified through ICBC.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and internet use.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Team‑oriented with a positive, respectful, and collaborative approach.
Nice To Haves
- Experience coordinating vehicle maintenance or fleet operations is an asset.
- Experience working in a First Nations environment is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of the Ayás Mén̓men fleet, adhering to Squamish Nation Fleet Management Procedures.
- Schedule, track, and document vehicle maintenance, inspections, insurance renewals, leases, and fuel requirements.
- Maintain accurate fleet records, including inspection logs, licensing, insurance expiry dates, and driver credentials.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and safe for use.
- Coordinate seasonal tire changes and tire storage.
- Track staff driver’s licenses, ICBC abstracts, and completion of required defensive driving training.
- Transport children, youth, families, and staff using vehicles ranging from standard fleet vehicles to 16‑ and 22‑passenger buses.
- Complete all pre‑ and post‑trip duties in compliance with ICBC regulations and Squamish Nation policies.
- Perform basic routine engine and body maintenance as required.
- Participate as a Responsible Adult on outings, camps, and activities, providing supervision and guidance.
- Present a professional, respectful, and responsible image when engaging with children, families, staff, and community partners.
- Contribute positively as a team member within Ayás Mén̓men Child and Family Support Services.
- Follow workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and confidentiality standards.
- Perform additional related duties as required to support departmental goals.
